BBRacers Club was developed in 1996 to encourage students to participate in after-school fitness programs and develop a life-long commitment to health and fitness. The program gives students the opportunity to meet challenges, work towards goals and feel a sense of pride in their school and individual accomplishments. BolderBOULDER , together with its participating schools, hopes to send the message to students that physical fitness can be fun and something in which all kids can participate, regardless of their age or physical limitations.

First You Need a Coach
Schools wanting to be considered for the program must contact BolderBOULDER before February 5th 2013. Each School will provide at least one motivated staff person to represent them in the BBRacers Club. Coaches will receive free race registration, running shoes and apparel. This may be a teacher, administrator, parent, etc. They will be responsible for working along with BolderBOULDER staff in recruitment, training, registration and race day kid rustling. Contact email@example.com for more information.
The BolderBOULDER staff would love to help with your assemblies/presentations. A signup sheet is available at the kickoff reception or you can contact firstname.lastname@example.org. Participating schools may also handle their own recruitment with the assistance of a BolderBOULDER DVD. It is highly encouraged to bring all students together for one “high-charged” assembly, which demonstrates the importance of this program to the school and a chance to show school spirit.
Students will train alongside their teachers for eight weeks to prepare for their 6.2-mile walk, jog, run or race. BolderBOULDER will provide each school a training schedule for running and walking, as well as weekly training tips to be shown to the students. Participants should meet at least once weekly at school, as well as be required to continue training on their own throughout the week. Students participating on the track team will be excused from BBRacer Club practice, but their participation will still be monitored by the Club Coach.
Registration DEADLINE IS APRIL 19th!!!
In order to insure timely distribution of race packets and accuracy in scoring; students, teachers, and school staff will register online for the BolderBOULDER differently than the rest of the racers. In addition to the usual fields including name, address, etc., the BBRacers registration forms will include school name, grade, and a selection of BBRacers Club waves. Paper registration forms will also be given to all coaches for those students who cannot register online. Students that register PRIOR TO THE APRIL 19th DEADLINE will receive a discount off their entry, a unique BBRacers T-shirt and a goody bag containing items donated by race sponsors. We do ask that you encourage online registration to minimize errors and ensure the deadline is met.
What about the stragglers?
Those students who miss the registration deadline (April 19th), may register for the race, but not as part of the BBRacers Club. There are no exceptions to this deadline. Students who miss the deadline will register as a regular race participant and will have other options as to where to pick up their race packet. It will not be delivered to the school and they will not receive the discount. Letters to parents explaining the deadline will be provided to you at the kickoff.
Race Packet Delivery
Race packets will be delivered to each school in advance of the race. Parents and non-middle school siblings may register for the race through the school and have their packets delivered along with their student’s, and may run in BBRacer Club waves along with their kids.
We will have several BBRacer Club waves this year. These waves are for the students, their parents, friends and siblings. However, students and teachers/staff taking part in the Challenge do not have to do the BolderBOULDER in these waves. We have had many participants whose times are fast enough to qualify for the seeded waves. If the participant decides they would rather run in a non-BBRacer Club wave (qualifying wave) they will still be counted in the Challenge with their school.
Highest participation awards will be given to both elementary and middle school in each division. Divisiions are based on the size of the school:
+ Division I: 1-200 students
+ Division II: 201-550 students
+ Division III: 551 or more students
Other awards include:
Top 3 fastest girls and top 3 fastest boys for each school.
Participation certificate for every school
