DICK'S Sporting Goods BolderBOULDER FAQ

Where is the BolderBOULDER Store? -  Twenty Ninth Street Store - Suite number to be determined.

What is my bib number?

Search for your name here -  friends and family search page available by early April

What if I change my mind about the wave I am in and want to change my bib/timing tag to another wave?

No problem assuming there are still bibs available in the wave you want.  Return the bib and timing tag at the Bolder Boulder Store or Sports Exhibit on race weekend.  Pay $10 for a bib change.

Moving forward to a faster wave is not permitted, and doing so disqualifies the finish time which will not be included in the final results produced a couple of weeks after the race.

When does my wave start?

Check out the wave start time page for the list of waves, descriptions and preliminary start times (final start times will be posted on May 25).  Allow at least an hour to find parking and to take care of all those last minute things before the gun goes off.

Where does the race start?

30th & Walnut.  Check out the course.

How do I get to the race?

Check out our parking and bus options.

Are there maps of the race venues?

You bet!

How much for extras I can purchase online and in the store?

PastaPASTA (Sunday at the Millennium) is $12.50 for adults and $6.00 for kids 5-12

BashBASH (Monday at the Millennium) is $8.25

Mobile Lockers (drop off just north of Best Buy) are $2

Hot Dog $5.00

Pizza $6.75

Chicken Wrap $6.50

Veggie Wrap 5.75

How do I get my results?

There are three ways to find your results.  1) Text your bib number to 66196 anytime before you race and Verizon will send your time and splits to your phone after you finish. 2) Check the BolderBOULDER website on race day for unofficial results. 3) We will mail your results certificate in June.

What's the story on the timing tags?

Since 2007 we have used timing tag technology from IPICO Sports to give everyone accurate finish times and mile splits.

If you don't wear your tag on your shoe and bib in front you won't get a time. We also want to know you finished so we can officially remain the second largest race in the country and maybe someday become the largest!

Only finishers wearing their own assigned BolderBOULDER timing tag on their shoe will be timed and eligible for awards.  Attach to your shoe using all four holes to ensure the tag lays as flat as possible.

To keep things fair we do not list runners who start in a wave earlier (disqualification) than their assigned wave, missed several mile splits, do not finish the entire course or wear someone else's bib and timing tag.

What are the race rules?

If you start in a earlier wave than the one assigned you will be disqualified.

If you are a baby - sorry...strollers, wagons and baby joggers are not allowed, but you can ride in a backpack for free!

If you are a child (five and under) - you can register and will receive a finisher's certificate, but will not be scored as part of an age category.

If you are a rock star feel free to bring your portable music (iPod, other MP3 player, radio, etc.) and jam out on your headphones. Just please keep others in mind and don't blare it too loud.

If you are a veteran or active military - you have the option to request a special U.S. Military wave for runners or for jog/walkers ("M" for military runners, "P" for military jog/walkers).

If you are a wheelchair participant - just mark "wheelchair participant" on the entry form.

If you are a self-propelled wheelchair participant, we will place you in a wave according to your predicted finish time.

If you have someone walking with you, have them mark "walker" on their entry form and we will assign both of you to one of the walking waves.

Motorized and 3 wheel hand-cycle chairs are not permitted in the race.

If you are furry and drooling - sorry, you'll have to stay at home...dogs are not allowed along the course, in the stadium or on the CU campus (service dogs are welcome).

There are no refunds, exchanges or transfers on registration fees.

How do I run with someone else?

If you want to be in the same start wave as someone else, register everyone online together within a two hour time window.  Note the names of others in the field provided.  If you request to run with  friends in a qualifying wave all need to supply proof of a qualifying time. Everyone will be placed in the slowest person's wave. Requests to run together take priority over qualifying times so if you are planning to run with a fast runner, make sure they are willing to run in a slower wave with you before you register online.

How do I get into a qualified wave?

If you are planning to run faster than 68 minutes, and want to be seeded in one of the first 30+waves (there are over 90 total), proof of qualification is required. All qualifying waves require proof of a qualifying time, either your 2011 BolderBOULDER finish time or a finisher's certificate, printed race result, website results or a newspaper clipping from another race (2 miles or longer) which you've run since May 30, 2011.  Or you are welcome to run 2 miles on the treadmill at the BolderBOULDER store.
