At the DICK’S Sporting Goods BolderBOULDER you can customize your race experience more than any other event in the world. Follow the steps below to craft your race:
Step 1 – Waves
Even though the race is big, it’s separated into 80-90 waves that let everyone go at the gun and finish at their own pace. The waves are divided up into six sections: qualified runners (see below), runners, joggers, jog/walkers, walk/joggers and walkers. Your estimated finish time will determine which section you are placed in.
Running with others
The best way to start in the same wave as others is to register everyone in your group at the same time. Either register everyone online within a two hour time frame, submit all entry forms together at the BolderBOULDER Store or send them in together by mail. All of you will be placed in the slowest requested wave in your group. Specific wave placement is not guaranteed as waves fill quickly, but we'll do our best. If this is a qualified wave you all need to supply proof. Check our friends and family search page (coming in early April 2012) to see if the people you know are already registered.
Qualified waves
The first waves are reserved for runners that can provide proof that they can run 10K faster than 68 minutes. You can either use your 2011 BolderBOULDER finish time or any other race between two miles and a marathon run since Memorial Day 2011. Please take your proof with you if you register at the store.
Non-qualified waves
The remaining waves do not require any proof and are broken down into Running, Jogging, Jog/Walking, Walk/Jogging and Walking pace groups. Check the wave list for your best option.
Special waves
Several waves have been designated for specific groups such as the BBRacers Club (formerly the Middle School Challenge) waves, KBCO wave and Military waves.
Step 2 – Pick a package
Everyone gets split second tag timing and mile splits, a 2012-2013 calendar / runner’s guide and a keepsake snack bag filled with treats.
