CHUCK DESMOINEAUX

Chuck Desmoineaux is a relative newcomer to the sport of running having only running competitively for 2 years. However, he brings with him over 25 years of cycling experience; many of those as a competitive cyclist, even competing at the National Championships. Chuck has also been an athlete in the Carmichael Training System (CTS). He’s been able to adapt several of the same training philosophies from cycling and CTS and apply them to running.

His first running race was a full marathon. It never dawned on him until he was well into a training program that he hadn’t even run a 5k race. Not to be deterred he continued on and finished in a respectable 4 hours. This can be attributed to one of his philosophies “can’t never did anything”.

The coaching approach Chuck has towards running and training is it should be fun. “Structured, but fun. The structure gives you something to shoot for and achieve. It also allows you to measure your improvements. And just because it’s structured doesn’t mean it can’t be fun.”

Chuck has also coached a youth soccer team to a state championship as well as been a ski instructor for the handicapped.
