JEFF KEIL

Jeff Keil has been a coach of the Training Club for 3 years and enjoys helping his groups work hard at achieving their goals.

Born + Raised in Greeley, Colorado. He began as a competitive runner since the age of 8, ran track + cross country through Jr High and High School, where he received a scholarship to run track for Colorado State University where he ran the 400m and 800m as well as Indoor and Cross Country in the fall. He experienced what true hard work was when he was running 120 miles a week during the off season before the fall. Jeff was a NCAA Division I All American in the 800m with a PR of 1:48.93 ran at LSU in 1993 as a Junior. His senior year was marred by injury and his track career came to an end.

Now Jeff has focused his energy into Ironman Triathlon where he is one of the best athletes on the planet in the sport- at the 2007 Ironman World Championship, Jeff raced to a finishing time of 9:14- placing 59th overall as the 11th American across the finish line- even with the professionals. He had the 5th fastest amateur marathon- running 3:00 after a 2.4 mile swim and a 112 mile bike. Training 20-25hrs a week, Jeff enjoys spending time with is equally talented wife and Duathlon World Champion- Jenni Keil.

Jeff uses HR based training and aerobic fitness and follows the Dr. Philip Maffetone method of training:
