TERRRY CHIPLIN

Terry Chiplin has been a BOLDRUNNING Coach since March 2007.

Terry was born at an early age in the quiet English coastal town of Bournemouth. He recalls that he felt most at home when he was running, mostly on the beach and the New Forest. He ran at district and county level at 100m and 200m. Strangely, longer distances didn't attract him at that point in his life. Like many people, Terry left school, started university and discovered his dark side! 10 years later he woke to the realization that he wanted to get back to health and fitness, and went for a run. This started a journey of discovery, where he discovered that his physique was ideally suited to endurance running. 10K's, half marathons and marathons followed, along with a B.Sc. (Honours) Degree in Sports Studies, majoring in Sports Physiology and Sports Psychology. He studied at De Montfort University Bedford, racing home of Paula Radcliffe! Terry also has a Certificate in Sports Nutrition from P&A Sports Nutrition in England. He also has a Certificate and Diploma in Life Coaching from Newcastle College, England.

Terry's main coaching philosophies are to help people focus on the positive aspects of their running, fitness and life, setting and achieving realistic goals, while also having fun! He also runs a residential training and retreat center near Estes Park, Active at Altitude, that provides relaxing mountain accommodation close to trail networks and majestic Rocky Mountain National Park.
