When is the race?
It's always on Memorial Day, which in 2010 is Monday, May 31. The first wave goes off at 7:00am.
What's the story on the timing tags?
Since 2007 we have used timing tag technology from IPICO Sports to give everyone accurate finish times and mile splits.
If you don't wear your tag on your shoe and bib in front you won't get a time. We also want to know you finished so we can officially remain the second largest race in the country and maybe someday become the largest!
Only finishers wearing their own assigned BolderBOULDER timing tag on their shoe will be timed and eligible for awards.
To keep things fair we do not list runners who start in a wave earlier than their assigned wave, missed several mile splits, do not finish the entire course or wear someone else's bib and timing tag.
How can I register?
Online registration is open now through May 26, and our retail store is open through May 28 at Twenty Ninth Street in Boulder. Single-day on-site registrations are also available through May 16. Race morning you can also register from 5:45am until 9am at the registration area in the shopping center parking lot west of 30th & Iris (near the start line). Look for the large canopy.

How do I run with someone else?
If you want to be in the same start wave as someone else, register everyone online together. If you request to run with a friend in a qualifying wave you both need to supply proof of a qualifying time. If you register as a group online and request to be placed together, you will all be placed in the slowest person's wave. Requests to run together take priority over qualifying times so if you are planning to run with a fast runner, make sure they are willing to run in a slower wave with you before you register online. Check our friends and family search page to see if the people you want to run with are already registered and which wave they are in. You can request their wave, but as waves fill up we can't guarantee placement in that wave.
Where can I find a list of the waves?
Check out the wave start time page for the list of waves, descriptions and preliminary start times (final start times will be posted on May 28).
How do I get into a qualified wave?
If you are planning to run faster than 68 minutes, and want to be seeded in one of the first 32 waves (there are 92 total), proof of qualification is required. All qualifying waves require proof of a qualifying time, either your 2009 BolderBOULDER finish time or a finisher's certificate, printed race result, website results or a newspaper clipping from another race (2 miles or longer) which you've run since May 25, 2009. Or you are welcome to run 2 miles on the treadmill at the BolderBOULDER store.

Can I get involved with the race without running?
Absolutely! We need thousands of volunteers to make the race happen. There are still spots to volunteer on your own or to earn money as a non-profit group. Everyone gets a t-shirt, other fun perks and the glory of being a volunteer hero.
How can I find out what bands and entertainment acts are performing on the course and where?
Just click here to see all that AND hear songs from the free BolderBOULDER Bootlegs Vol. Six CD and where to get one! This information will available in April.
How do I register as a team?
Team members are welcome to register online. Then let your team captain know that you have registered. The team captain should then submit the team form listing all those who have already registered online, and attaching entry forms for those who prefer to register on the paper entry. Confirmation of team registration will be sent to the team captain.
The team form will be available in February. Fill it out. Include a check or credit card information for payment of the team fee and for team members that have not already registered. Sign the team form underneath the credit card information. Mail the team form and individual team member forms for those who have not registered online to the BolderBOULDER office or bring it in to our BolderBOULDER store. Team registration and changes to teams closes Friday, May 21.

What are the race rules?
If you are a baby - sorry...strollers, wagons and baby joggers are not allowed, but you can ride in a backpack for free!
If you are a child (five and under) - you can register and will receive a finisher's certificate, but will not be scored as part of an age category.
If you are a rock star feel free to bring your portable music (iPod, other MP3 player, radio, etc.) and jam out on your headphones. Just please keep others in mind and don't blare it too loud.
If you are a veteran or active military - you have the option to request a special U.S. Military wave for runners or for jog/walkers ("M" for military runners, "P" for military jog/walkers).
If you are a wheelchair participant - just mark "wheelchair participant" on the entry form.
If you are a self-propelled wheelchair participant, we will place you in a wave according to your predicted finish time.
If you have someone walking with you, have them mark "walker" on their entry form and we will assign both of you to one of the walking waves.
Motorized and 3 wheel hand-cycle chairs are not permitted in the race.
If you are furry and drooling - sorry, you'll have to stay at home...dogs are not allowed along the course, in the stadium or on the CU campus (service dogs are welcome).
