Summer/Fall Distance Program 2009  - Starts June 15th 

Track WorkoutThis summer and fall is your chance to take the next step in your running experience. BOLDRUNNING offers group training programs for everyone from first timers to seasoned runners. Use our half marathon and full marathon specific programs to help you towards any of our quality endorsed races, a race of your own choice or simply to improve fitness and wellbeing.

Goal specific half marathon and marathon training schedules are expertly crafted in conjunction with 1993 World Marathon Champion, Mark Plaatjes and elite runner and BOLDRUNNING head Coach Ewen North.

How Does It Work?

Runners are placed into groups of similar ability with customized schedules for each “pace group.” Expert coaches undertake weekly group workouts at a pre-determined running trail. You can join in up to 3 workouts per week. Training schedules, meeting location details and personal training journals will be accessed from the BOLDRUNNING member site. In addition, your coach will be available via email if you have training questions, need advice, or just a little extra motivation.
Members will be given access to the Training site shortly before the program begins.
 

Pace Groups 
Schedules are customized for each ability group, categorized according to your half marathon/marathon goal time as follows:

  • Sub 1:30/3:00 (about 7 minute mile pace)
  • Sub 1:45/3:30 (about 8 minute mile pace)
  • Sub 2:00/4:00 (about 9 minute mile pace)
  • Sub 2:15/4:30 (about 10 minute mile pace)
  • Sub 2:30/5:00 (about 11 minute mile pace)
  • I just want to Run the Whole way and Finish

Group Workouts/Training 
Denver Group

Our group workouts are fun, interactive and social. Everyone is friendly and welcoming.
Choose one group workout as your primary workout day. This is the day you will meet with your official coach and pace group. You can attend up to 3 group workouts every week.
Tuesday will the focus/hard workout for the week. Thursday's will feature a moderate pace run and Saturday will be a longer group run.
Training sessions begin with a brief overview of the workout, followed by a supervised easy jog warm up, group stretching and running drills. Your coach will then oversee the workout, offering advise and support as you go. Workouts finish with a jog cooldown, followed by stretching, water, Gatorade and PowerBars to refuel.

Don't live in the Boulder/Denver area or can’t make any of the BOLDRUNNING group workouts? You can still train using our online training system, wherever you live. You will have access to the customized weekly schedules, training journal and online group, reference material and e-mail (or phone) communication with your coach.
