Safety & Rules

We want everyone to enjoy a fun and safe 10k on race day.

We absolutely want you to run with friends and family, dress for the occasion, rock out with the bands, and even hit the slip and slide!! But please be considerate for the runners around you when doing so and try not to impede anyone’s progress along the course.

Below are a few more specifics around the do’s and don’ts for the day.

BIBS / Race Numbers

All participants must wear the officially issued race number bib registered to the wearer.

Please wear your bib on your front or side of your outermost garment from start to finish in order for you to be recognized as an official participant and so we can send you photos and your official finish time.

Participants are required to start in their designated wave. Starting in an earlier wave will result in disqualification from the BOLDERBoulder and you will not receive a finish time.

Participant race number bibs are specific personal identifiers and may not be exchanged or transferred, given or sold to any other person. The sale and/or transfer of race entries/bibs is strictly prohibited.

Running with little ones
Backpacks are great for walking with kids that can’t do it on their own. Strollers and baby joggers are not allowed.
Walking or running with friends and family
It’s great to enjoy the day with your friends and family, but keep it to three abreast or less along the course so others can get by.
Starting in a wave ahead of yours
The wave start allows everyone to run their own pace. Because we want everyone to run their best race, we can’t allow people to move up to a faster wave on race day. If you start in an earlier wave than the one you were assigned your time will be disqualified. You can move back to run in a slower wave or with someone else.
Costumes
Go ahead and dress up however funny, funky, or silly you like, but make sure your costume doesn’t extend beyond your body or connect you with anyone else.
Anything beyond your own two feet
You can walk, jog, sprint, or skip – but please don’t bring bicycles, in-line skates, Kangoo shoes, or anything else that lets you roll or bounce your way to the finish.
Rocking out
Feel free to bring along your iPod and headphones, just keep the volume low enough that you can hear any instructions from course marshals. Check out course entertainment here.
Pets
Fido is a great training partner, but you’ll need to leave all pets at home on race day.
