  • I Am Bolder Finalist
  • Explanation
  • After suffering a freak accident requiring surgery on Sept 6, 2013 reattaching a complete rupture of my hamstring off the distal ischium and lateral wall of the ischium and repair mid substance of the abductor magnus in the medial thigh, my goal is to run in this year's BolderBoulder. This will be not my fastest time, but it means a milestone in recovery.
  • Representing BolderBoulder at Mount Everest Base camp on 10/26/2012
  • In December of last year I weighed over 300 lbs. After New Years we started a weight loss competition at work. I weighed in at 298.8 on January 3rd. I have set small goals and never let up. I weighed 214 lbs on May 20th. I am running my first 10k ever next Monday. I am a new man. My goal is to finish under one (1) hour. Day by day, small victory after small victory, I am here at my first Bolder Boulder.

  • I've been doing the BB since the beginning and have been winning my age group the last couple of years. Without this wonderful race and great running groups to keep me motivated, I could of never qualified for the Boston Marathon this year. Unfortunately I was stopped less than 6 blocks from the finish line and never got to complete the marathon. This year I am running the BB and crossing that finish line for all the victims and the wonderful people of Boston! Nancy Antos

  • The Bolder Boulder is the first postpartem race for me. I ran up to about 32 weeks pregnant, and when I realized a visit to Colorado would coincide with the BB10K, I knew it would be the perfect motivation to get moving as quickly as possible. With a 13-week-old, running has been more challenging than usual, but I'm pumped about the training so far, and can't wait for race day!
  • Finally getting the okay to travel, one and a half year cancer survivor and stem cell transplant recipient brother and his Colorado resident sister look to take on the altitude of BB10K after finishing a race last year together in Boston.
