Safety & Rules
Running with little ones - Backpacks are great for walking with kids that can’t do it on their own. Strollers and baby joggers are allowed in the last wave.
Anything beyond your own two feet - You can walk, jog, sprint or skip – but please don’t bring ice skates, sleds, cross country skis or anything else that lets you glide your way to the finish.
Walking or running with friends and family - It’s great to enjoy the day with your friends and family, but keep it to three abreast or less along the course so others can get by.
Costumes - Go ahead and dress up however funny, funky or silly you like, but make sure your costume doesn’t extend beyond your body or connect you with anyone else.
Rocking out - Feel free to bring along your iPod and headphones, just keep the volume low enough that you can hear any instructions from course marshals.
Pets - Rudolph is a great training partner, but you’ll need to leave all pets at home on race day.

Free parking can be found on campus in lots 169, 436, and 308.
$4 on campus parking can be found in lots 204 and 380.

Bag Checking
Save your warm-up gear at our bag check in the Balch Field House before the race and pick it up afterwards. The service is free and can be found in the southwest corner of the field house. Check the parking map below for the location.

After you finish, check out the expo for great food and drink samples, and tons of other schwag.
The ColderBolder
This 5K is a little different, but so are those of us who enjoy running in the cold. It is actually 13 individual races. The top three men and women in each race win Cold Medals and an ice-cold YETI Rambler. That’s 78 medalists total.
The First 12 Races
These are for people who participated in the last BolderBOULDER. Each individual race puts people together who are about about the same speed. Why? So everyone has a shot at winning. Participants are put in the race with people who finished the BolderBOULDER in about the same time. For example, if you finished the BolderBOULDER in 52 minutes you race against people who finished between 52-54 minutes. It’s your chance at personal glory and eternal fame. You got this.
The 13th and Final Race
This is open to everyone, runners, joggers and walkers. We all want to stay fit over the holidays, and we want everyone to be able to participate. So, break out in a cold sweat with us. Let’s pour cold water on those winter blues.
No Hidden Fees!
Running is pure. It’s just you, a pair of shoes, and a route. We don’t think any pure sport should include a bunch of hidden fees. That’s why, unlike other races, we don’t have added online fees or handling charges. The only add-on’s are for shipping (if you choose) and/or extra gear or food if you want them.

All registrations are automatically backed by the ColderBOLDER GuaRUNtee. It means that if you sign up and can’t participate, we can roll your registration over to next year’s event for only $20. And, you won’t need an excuse from your mom or a note from your doc.
It’s easy. If you don’t make it, we’ll send you a personal rollover code for next year’s event. You of course get to keep your shirt and any other items you ordered. We just really want you to be part of the ColderBOLDER. It’s just that simple.
