Scott Fauble, Diego Estrada, and Abdi Abdirahman running on Team USA Red

APRIL 26, 2017 (BOULDER, COLO) – BolderBOULDER, America’s All-Time Best 10K, today announced some of the Americans that will make-up team USA in the 2017 BolderBOULDER International Team Challenge. The professional race takes place shortly after the conclusion of the BolderBOULDER citizen race, a Memorial Day tradition in Boulder.

“We are pleased and excited with caliber of men and women that the BolderBoulder has attracted for 2017,” said Pro Athlete Coordinator, Don Janicki. “This could be the most competitive and exciting race we have ever had.”

The BolderBOULDER created the International Team Challenge in 1998, which includes professional runners from all over the world that compete on three-person teams in a team by country format, for one of the largest non-marathon prize purses in the country. The average prize purse, including bonuses, since 2012 is $155,757. This year’s race will award an average of $157,000 in prize money. The men’s and women’s professional races follow the BolderBOULDER course through beautiful downtown Boulder and is scheduled to finish in a packed stadium at the University of Colorado’s Folsom Field before the Memorial Day Tribute.

“I couldn’t be more excited to be returning to Boulder,” said USA team member Scott Fauble. “The BolderBOULDER will always feel like a homecoming for me and the opportunity to crush as hard as I can down Pearl St in front of friends and family is one that I am very excited about.”

Joining Scott Fauble, Deiego Estrada and Abdi Abdirahman make up the rest of the men’s portion of Team USA for the 2017 International Team Challenge. Abdirahman recently finished in the top ten at the Boston Marathon.  Neely Spence, Stephanie Bruce Rothstein and Brianne Nelson are also announcement and will make-up some of the 2017 women’s American team.

The International Team Challenge will take place at the BolderBOULDER on Monday, May 29th with the women’s race beginning at 11:15 AM and the men’s race beginning at 11:26 AM.
